Leon
I had a blast exploring the museums and going on a boat tour. The hotel's accommodations were comfortable and they offered great services and amenities. I also enjoyed a refreshing drink at the bar.
Oh, and let's not forget the joy of freezing without proper heating. So delightful.

This hotel is wonderfully located because close to the main monuments and important places of Caldas da Rainha (maximum 200 meters). Enough for 1 to 2 nights. Staff really welcoming and permanently helpful. I recommend this hotel for its simplicity and its conviviality.

The rooms at D. Carlos Residencial were super cozy and comfortable. I felt right at home with the cable TV, private bathroom, and even a hairdryer! The refrigerator was a nice touch too.
Personally, I could've done without the seating area in certain rooms. But hey, that's just me!

Nice park across the street.
Apartment was in an iffy neighborhood. Was probably a really nice place in its heyday. All marble, and no heat. We froze the whole time we were there. Also, no bowls for cereal, and no washing soap for the dishes they did have. Very loud.

Friendly and Convenient Location
I recently stayed at a hotel in Portugal and had a wonderful experience. The receptionist was a fluent English speaker, which made communication a breeze. The location was perfect, as it was close to the bus terminal in Caldas Rainha. The hotel even offered a free desktop for internet access. Despite the slightly outdated decor in the room, everything was clean and inviting. The staff were friendly, always ready to help and give recommendations on places to visit. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

Clean and modern, yet extremely tiny rooms. Very convenient location for sightseeing and very friendly front desk staff.
Rooms are too small for any standard.

The park across the street and the fruit market close by every day.
The beds were very uncomfortable and some of the pillows were flat.

We had so much fun exploring Peniche and Foz do Arelho, where we tried out some rad water sports. The fact that the guest house has a children's playground was awesome because we could chill there and soak up the sun. We also took a tour of a ceramics workshop, which was super interesting and unique. it was a total blast!
The only thing that could have made our stay even better would be if the guest house had a dedicated party area for young people like us. It would have been epic to have a place to hang out and have some wild nights with our friends.

Great location near park and town.
All was good.

Caldas is a lovely town and the Don Carlos is well located. Parking locally was easy but there are lots of helpful characters 'assisting' you with your parking. Again, breakfast was sufficient.
The building is just old but this was not the end of the world.

I had a wonderful stay at a charming and vintage hotel that was centrally located and right next to the park entrance. The room I stayed in, although basic, was more than adequate with its own en suite bathroom and TV. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The location was perfect, allowing easy access to both the park and the town. it was one of the best stays I've had for a very reasonable price.
Nothing that I didn't like about my stay here. 😊

The hotel boasts a fantastic location next to the most wonderful park, and is just a short walk from the city centre. The rooms are well cleaned, and the staff are friendly and helpful. You can enjoy a tasty breakfast buffet and use the free wireless. Guests can take advantage of the discounted evening meals at a nearby restaurant.
Guests may find the heating to be inadequate in cold weather, and noisy in some rooms.
